As Cinderella discovered, a shoe
can change your life. But sometimes, as we’ve learnt, there is a very unsightly
and painful thing standing between you and a potentially life changing pair of kicks-
dry heels and blisters. This can get a bit nasty, so we’ll tackle one at a time.
Scholl were kind enough to let us sample some of their products, and with newly sandal-ready feet we thought it would be selfish not to share our secret with you.
Let’s shine the spotlight first on those dry, cracked heels. To be fair, your feet are all the way down south, so honestly, whose going to look there, right?! We confess that we’ve been guilty of neglecting our heels based on this mindset. But as a society that acknowledges individual contributions, you’ve got to admit that we do put our feet through a lot, and our heels take the brunt of it. Unfortunately, not all of us have the luxury of weekly pedicures to pamper our feet, but as we’ve recently discovered, there is a hassle free way to show your heels the TLC it deserves. A product that has slowly become a part of our post-shower routine is Scholl Eulactol Heel Balm Gold. We’ve always been a bit sceptical about products like this that promise to ‘restore’ the skin and leave you with beautiful feet, but we’ve been pleasantly surprised. It’s non-greasy and not too thick or heavy at all, which is one of our pet peeves when it comes to heel balms. This is the perfect alternative for those crunched on time or don’t have bottomless pockets to fund weekly visits to the nail salon.
Phew! Now to the one most girl’s and guys can relate to…blisters. Yep, we can virtually see all of you cringing at that word. It definitely brings back horrible flashbacks of us hobbling around town with a fresh pair of shoes that haven’t been broken in. The good ole’ band aid has served us well and spared us the embarrassment of crawling up the side walk, but often, they only do the trick for the first hour. We were able to get our hands on Scholl's Blister Shield Plasters, or what we like to call band aids 2.0. They're like the next generation band aids specifically designed for blister prevention! We’ve got the mixed pack which comes with different sized shields. We prefer the larger ones as we tend to blister more at the back. The saying “good things come in small packages” is fitting when it comes to this product. These little gems do the trick to reduce the friction. The unique thing about these particular plasters are that they hydrate the blisters, which according to the website, helps with the healing process! Isn’t that smart?!
