The wonders of a good eye liner should never be underestimated. With a little bit of
blending and building, you can immediately transform your everyday, girl next-door look into a sultry and intense smokey eye. If you've read our previous posts, you'll know that ELES is on their A game when it comes to every lippie, so we were curious to see how their eyeliners measure up.
We were quite impressed with ELES' Powder Liner in Copper. Like every girl, we love ourselves a little bit of shimmer, so the subtle gold specks proved a hit with us! Here's a break down of our first impressions of the product:
Packaging and design: A
There's nothing we appreciate more than a multi-purpose product which is why the smudge end of this pencil has our big tick of approval! We love that it spares up room in our makeup bag. The smudge end also makes achieving the perfect smokey a breeze.
Formulation: B
This powder liner is ideal for those looking to create a softer smokey eye rather than an intense look. We found that the colour was difficult to build up, and application wasn't as smooth as we'd like. However, the product does blend very well both with a brush and your finger. Personally, we've always preferred a natural no-makeup-makeup look, so we love the subtle and natural look that we can achieve with this pencil.
Range: A
There are quite a few shades to choose from, so whether your looking for something more wearable or something more fun, there's something for everyone!
Price: B
At $43.25, this liner is a bit too pricey for us. Some of our favourite liners are well below the $30 mark and even cult favourites from high end brands like MAC do not come with such a hefty price tag. A good liner is definitely something you should invest in, but considering that the colour pay off is not that fantastic, we think this product is a few dollars too much.
Before
After
Overall grade: A
All in all, we think that the ELES Powder Liner in Copper will serve us well this winter. We definitely recommend everyone try their powder liner pencil range out. However, with a price tag like that, we may have to give re-purchasing the product a second think.

I'm not the biggest fan of pencil liners because I always go for the dark, black, winged eyeliner look. However, I think that copper is a pretty and natural color for a liner, and it looks good. I definitely wouldn't spend more than $10 on an eyeliner, though, because there's so many good drugstore options out there already.
ReplyDeletemanicpixiegirl
Copper is such a nice alternative to black liners because they are much more subtle.
DeleteAs we said in our post, our favourite liners are from the drugstore, so you definitely don't need to spend big to find a good eye liner

The copper liner really brings out your brown eyes! I haven't tried out many eyeliners but I use the Makeup Forever pencil one in black. Great for every day use, although I find it a little difficult to take off sometimes!

We haven't tried that one before, but we might have to give it a go. Out current eyeliner favourite is the Maybelline gel liner. We find it's a bit hard to get off too, but we don't mind because that means it won't go anywhere during the day!
