MILANI HAUL: HITS AND MISSES

If you saw our last post with Vama Cosmetics, you would remember it was love at first sight try for us and Milani. Since that post, we’ve been constantly reaching for our baked bronzer and have already hit pan on the skin illuminating face powder, so when we were presented with the opportunity to try more of Milani’s products, what do you think our response was?!

L-R: Gel Powder Eyeshadow in Sand,  Cafe,  Ivory

Glitter eyeshadows are always a hit or miss, and from our experience, they’ve been misses more often than not. Many of those we’ve tried tend to cling onto odd spots and look cakey, and unflattering. While we didn't have to struggle with these problems when working with the Milani Gel Powder eyeshadows, we were not too impressed by their pigmentation. We were so disappointed as they look amazing in the pan, and if it were true to colour, Cafe would make the perfect crease colour. In saying that, we won’t be throwing them away either. They make for a great sheer, all over lid colour when you're opting for a more low key look. The single shadows will also work well when layered with more pigmented shadows.  For the best colour payoff, we found that patting the shadows onto the eyelids is the best way to go.

When it comes to Milani, no other product has received more hype than their Baked Blush in Luminoso. After finally trying it, we can’t help but feel sour that we have been missing out for so long. It’s one of those products you can’t truly appreciate until you’ve tried it for yourself. Of the four products, this cult favourite was the clear standout. Like Milani’s other baked face products, the blush is intensely pigmented and blendable. Dusted across the apples of the cheeks, it gives a natural flush of colour and subtle sheen which lends itself well to the dewy finish we’ve been adoring.

What glitter eyeshadows do you recommend?

  2. These are beautiful colors. They look lovely! I recently have started only using Urban Decay cosmetics. They don't test on animals and their colors are GORGEOUS! They've got so many glittery colors.
