DERBY DAY

It's Spring race season and over the years the frocks and fascinators have eclipsed the races and horses themselves as the stars of the show. With Melbourne Cup just days away, fashion's finest are preparing to flood the gates of Flemington with their best heels first!

Monochrome palettes dominated the fields last season, but this year, we're rooting for bold hues. Don't get us wrong, the black and white pairing is timeless, but to be honest, it's getting a little repetitive. We feel like we've seen all the monochrome dresses and jumpsuit variations out there. With the monochrome movement, racewear and fashion in general has lost an element of fun in the form of obnoxious colours and prints that we once loved. So in an attempt to bring back the fun and start our own 'the brighter the better' movement, we've thrown together a trackside outfit featuring a particularly boisterous pink floppy hat!
If colour is not your forte, then incorporating statement pieces like a fascinator or shoes with more muted pieces is the perfect way to freshen up your look. We love this combination as it screams Spring without having to deck yourself in colour from head to toe like an over the top Christmas tree.

Are you team monochrome or are you all about the bold colours?
